Mr Bannerman has been chosen Moderator of the Presbyterian Synod. Auckland, Oct. 16. Fiji news is received from the captain of the Dancing Wave, from Line Island. He announces that three of his men were killed. Three of the crew of the schooner Mukulan were sent to Sydney for trial on suspicion of kidnapping. The Farua residents complain of the conduct of the natives. The Freight Company received intelligence from the Home agent that Shaw, Saville and Co. had consented to lower freight charges and employ only first class iron vessels j thereupon they postponed commencing operations, awaiting instructions.
