CußisTCUUßcn.— The Times of the 6th reports :—
In the grain market a particularly quiet week has passed, scarcely a single transaction having come under our notice. Quotations for wheat are quite nominal, in the absence of sales, at 4s 9d to 4s lOd. Flour remains without any alteration at Ll3. Oats still meet a steady demand at 2s Id to 2s 2d, according to sample. Barley would find buyers at 6s to 6s 3d, but no samples are offering. Malt has improved, sales being reported up to 8s 6d. For stock of all descriptions tbe market is very quiet, the * hans<e in vatue, which always occurs at this season of the y a*, opt rating as a chic'c to business, sellers being unwilling to submit to a reduction, ami buyers, in the face of on anticipated plentiful supply, confining their purchases to immediate requirements. The number of cattle yarded on Wednesday was very limited, and tbe few fat ones offered show a very material decline upon last week's rates.
