MR WATERHOUSE THE PROBABLE PREMIER. [NBW ZEALAND PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Oct. 10. The Provincial Council is dissolved. The Luna sailed for the Chatham lilands with 30 Armed Constabulary, under Colonel St. John. It is understood that Mr Waterhouse has joined Mr Yogel as Premier. Dcnedin, Oct. 10. Otafto will be represented at the Wellington regatta. Christchdrch, Oct. 10. The Collegiate Union is going to petition the Legislature against the Auckland University Bill, in favor of one University for New Zealand, and affiliated colleges in the different Provinces. There were 13 attendants at the Collegiate Union lectures during the past terra. Auckland, Oct. 10. I Oakley pleaded guilty to breaches of the Arms Act at Maketu. Sentence was deferred. The Grand Jury pointed out that the man had kept an armorer's shop in a Native pa, for a long time. Cnthbertson, post office clerk, was found guilty of stealing a test letter. A point of law was reserved for the Appeal Court, as to whether stealing a letter which was not an ordinary post letter was larceny or embezzlement. The Green Harp bondsmen have been released on their own application.
