The Committee of the Canterbury Agricultural and_ Pastora} AstjQciatjon havg under their consideration the propriety of. starting an agricultural journal. The first paragraph of the report of the sub-committee appointed consider the matter is as follows :-;" That it is desired to commence a poriodicaV to be published quarterly; the .first, number to appear in January. That the subject matter of the journal should embrace agricultural, pastoral, and horticultural pursuits, and.that politics, except as bearing upon ruri.l'kffairs, Bhould be excluded. That an endeavor should be made to present to the public as much original matter as possible, and that to secure as wide spread assistance in. this direction, as possible, and for other reasons, j cordial relations should be established and maintained with every agricultural and horticultural • society, in the Colony, including farmers' clubs and qtl^er bodies whose aim is to promote improvement in rural economy. " ;
