There wore no arrivals or departures at this port yesterday. There was a topsail schooner off the port last night, but she was from flokitika, beating north. Messrs M'Mcckan, Blackwond, and Co.'s Bteamcr Albion, from Melbourne direct, is expected to arrive in the Hokitika roadstead this morning, and to come on here to-day. Should she do so, she will be tendered by the Dispatch, and afterwards leaveforMelson, Wellington, L> ttelton, Dunedin, Bluff Harbor and Melbourne. A serious accident has occurred to the Hercules, one of the Channel squadron.. One of the cranks of her boiler has cracked, and it will probably be the end of July before she can leave her anchorage. The squadron was to have left Lough Foyle on the 20th July. One oi the large vacant docks at Chatham io to he made ready tor the reception of the armour-clad turret ship Glatton, which, in accordance with the original intention of the Admiralty, ia to be sent to that port to be docked, and the damage sustained by her turret during the recent experimental trials upon it made good. The Glatton will afterwards proceed on an experimental cruise in the Channel, to test her steaming capabilities. A gentleman in Christ-church, who has relations on board the Agamemnon, has received a letter, dated 7th June, stating that they had been three weekß in Rio Janeiro, and that they did not expect the vessel to leave for New Zealand until the middle of July.
