Anderson's dredge at the Kawarua, Otago, struck a patch last' week, which yielded over 40oz of gold of the coarsest character ever yet obtained in the locality, The Big Beach, Lower Shotover, is again turning out very rich. The Sun Sing Tong Company (Ham-Tie and party) have been, it Is said, on sound authority, making aboutL9ooa week. The Beach Company (Ah Chuy and party) have also got on the run of gold, and obtained about Ll2O last week. The Chinese own all the Big Beach claims, having purchased out the European interests, and thus acquired not only a promising, but an cxi tensive field for thoir operations. '
