Cable telegrams to 31st July, report wool sales closed with strong competition and full prices. Superior Australian, Is sd ; average, Is 3^d. Advices to 25th July report New Zealand flax met less demand; 670 bales sold— middling, L 33 toL3S 15s ; fine, L 36 to L 39 10s ; tow, Ll6 to Ll7 19s. Hides in good demand at one-eight advance. Horns, active and in demand at 2s ; cows, in demand at full rates. Tallow, improved ; sheep, 43s 6d ; beef, 42s 4d. The Liverpool quotation for wheat, after a decline, rallied on 16th August to 12s 4d per cental.
