Per Lyttelton, for Hokitika: Original cargo from Melbourne, transhipped ex Rangitoto, and ex Charles Edward and Murray. Per Murray, for Westport : 2 pairs naves, Wickes ; 5 cases apples, D Girdwood and Co. For Nelson : 17 tons coal, Nancarrow, Henderson and Co.
Neither the p.s. Lyttelton, bound for Hokitika, with the transhipped portion of the Rangitoto's Melbourne cargo, or the as. Murray, bound for Westport and Nelson, left port yesterday, owing to the heavy sea running. They will leave to.day— the Lyttelton for Hokitika, and the Murray for Westport At tide time yesterday the p.B. Dispatch ran down to have a look at the bar, to see whether it was safe for towing-work, as the Jane Anderson was ready for sea. There was plenty of water in the channel, but there was also a nasty lumpy sea rolling in, which rendered towing dangerous, so that th& Dispatch returned to her moorings, and the schooner will have to be towed to sea to* day. The brig Thomas and Henry, lately overhauled and repaired in the Floating Dock at Port Chalmers, is being fitted out for sea alongside the Graving Dock pier head.
