The s s Albion, from New Zealand, arrived at Melbourne on the 21 at. There Was a slight case of sickness on board, one of the crew was landed at the sanitary station, and the vessel was not detained long. The ps Charles Edwaid arrived from Hokitika last night, and will go north today. The schooner Gleaner, from this port, had arrived at Melbourne Wore tbe llangitoto left. The brigantine Sarah and Mary, Captain Farrel, Melbourne, arrived in the roadstead., on Tuesday night, and was brought to tbf whirf yesterday afternoon in tow of the Dispatch. She left Melbourne on the 13th, and had light baffling winds during the trip She brings a large cargo of general mercban disc, details of which will be found above, and is consigned to her owners, Messrs Kennedy Bros. The s s Rangitoto, Captain Mackie, frorr Melbourne, arrived off Hokitikaat 10 30p.m on Tuesday. About tide-time a telegrair was received here that the Lioness would notender her, and that she had been ordered or to this port. The ,p s Dispatch accordingly ran out with the passengers and mail?, anc brought ashore tbe Hokitika and Greymont) passenger?, over 40 in number, nnd the mails, but the cargo, excepting perishable goods was taken on to Nelson. Captain Mackit reports ; — Tbe s s Rangitoto left Hobson'' Bay on the 22nd inst., at 5 p.m. ; passed Kent's Group the following day at 2.30 a.m. : experienced moderate winds, varying fron west-south-west to north-north-east, wit.l dull cloudy weather and heavy rain at time? Arrived off Hokitika on the 27th at 10.3« p.m,, where she could aot be tendered, and lift next forenoon for the Grey.
