Another fearful railway accident occurred in Canada to the night express, full of passengers, including m&ny ministers of the English Church, homeward bound from the Synod of Toronto. The engine jumped from the track, causing death and fearful tottures to scores of the passengers. The baggage car remained on the track and telescoped the smoking oar and second cars with passengers, leaving them on the top of the engine exposed to the pspaping steam of the boiler. The evidence against Stokes for the. murder of Fisk is concluded. The }ury, being unable to agree werp locked-up for two nights, but were unable to give any verdict. New York strikes are nearly ended, The piano-makers resumed work on the ten hours system. Webber Sfcinway's employees get an advance of ten per cent. The Dacotah sails for Melbourne on the tenth.
