The Auckland correspondent of the LijU klton Times is of a sentimental turn of mind. He concludes his last letter with the following sweetly sentimental allusion to a case of thieving recently haard in the local police jourt :— " A clerk in our Chief Post Office was committed for trial to-day for stealing money letters. It is a sad, sad case. He is a very young man, respectably connected, and piously nurtured. We hear that his relatives are well-nigh heart broken. Evil company, according to his own confession, has been his ruin, and blighted fair prospeots." .. ... •
