A snow-storm took place this morning. Auckland, Aug. 12. A heavy gale at the Thames washed down the Albion tramway. , and knocked down two houses in one of which a man and his wife were in bed. They were covered by the heavy frame of the tramway, but were got out afterwards unhurt. The bakers have gained the short hours demanded, aiid will commence now at four o'clock in the morning. An Alexandra telegram discredits Nelly's repori respecting the Taupo gold field. A man named Erekine, a practical digger, could find io gold at the spot indicated.
