Wellington, Aug. 10. The first sod of the Hutt Railway is to be turned on Monday week. The Brogdens have arranged for the construction of the following lines, without further delay :— -The Dunedin and Clutha, Invercargili andMataura, Auckland and Mercer. Jerusalem Smyth has been appointed their agent for the South lines, and proceeds to-morrow by the Wellington. Chief Engineer Henderson has gone north by the Phoebe to arrange for the latter line. The quarantine people have been liberated to-day. Nelson, Aug. 10.
