WARDEN'S COURT, AHAURA.
Friday, August 9. (Before Mr Warden Whitefoord.) Frank Linßtrum and party applied for a double area of alluvial ground below Granville, Half-Ounce district. The application was opposed by Frederick M'Nee on the ground that he had a preemptive right to one man's ground within the boundaries of the area applied for. The bpposer stated that he worked a claim within the area wanted for some time, but he went away to the Teviot lead, having first disposed of his right to the claim to a partner of the applicants for a certain consideration. He did not receive the payment agreed upon, and he now op- 1 posed, because he wanted the money to be paid him, or to be put in possession of his claim. The Warden decided the objector had no tociw standi; in point of fact, he abandoned his claim by parting with it on the terms he did, and if he had a remedy it would be against the purchaser, if there was suoh a person. The application was granted, subject to the report and recommendation of Mr Lewis, the Government Surveyor. A number of unopposed applications were granted, and the Court adjourned to the 16th August.
