Christchurch.— -The LyttelUm Times of Saturday last, reports : — Nothing whatever has been moving in tho grain market for some days past. No wheat is offering, while at- the same time there are no buyers. The few remaining holders are anxiously watching the outside markets, and as it is known that stocks here are light, thoy hope prices will rally before next harvest. Quot&tions are merely nominal, say 4s 9d to 4s lOd, ex store. Flour is also quiet, and we see no chance of values improving at present, "he millers move off bakers' parcels slowly at Ll3. Oats are still in fair request, at 2s to 2s Id for prime samples, stocks being bare. No sales of barley are reported ; supplies of really fine malting parcels are difficult to obtain. In provisions, a very active inquiry exists for butter, and buyere are freely offering lOJd for prime parcels fit for export. Cheese also is in good request, at 6d per lb. Potatoes meet with little attention at L 4 to L 4 10s per ton.
