The ps Charles Edward sailed north yes- . terday morning for Westport and Nelson. The a a Bangitoto is expected to arrive off Hokitika from Melbourne direct to-morrow. She will most probably be here the next tide, and be despatched for Nelson, all other New Zealand ports, and Melbourne, via the Bluff. Captain Harley, of the schooner Agues and 'Jessie, was lately drowned in Guard's Bay, - near Picton, where she pnt in through stress ■■ of weather, while on her passage from Newcastle to Lyttelton. He had been a state of ' partial delirium for several days previous to bis death, and had been watched by the crew ; for two night's previous to bis death. On the third night he appeared to be calmer, so it was not thought necessary to watch him. Daring the night the man on watch heard a ntdden splash, and gave tbe alarm. A boat was immediately lowered, when the dead body of the captain was found floating beside the vessel in an upright position. Every means were used to restore him to life, but without avail. The vessel put into Wellington on July 14, where he was buried. Deceased was 43 years old. .
