A NEW FEVER IN INDIA. [TIMES OF INDIA, MAY 31.] A new and most excrutiatingly painful disease— dengue fever — has been generally prevalent throughout India and British Burmah. In. Calcutta, Poona, and all over Guzerat, few Europeans have escaped the "break-bone" fever ; and in the former city business was for a time seriously affected by it— so much so, indeed, tbat an application was made to have the Tfigb Court closed for a week, because counsel, attorneys, and suitors were all down witb it. The Rangoon papers apologised to their readers for the scantiness of their original matter, because editors and contributors alike were unable to write; and in Guzerat the fever has been so prevalent that, " Have you had the dengue V has passed into a common form of salutation.
