Horace Mayhew, the well-known literateur, died at his residence, in London, on May 1. Ho was for many years attached to the staff of Pniich, being associated in this connection with the late Mr Mark Lemon, and many other writers of ability. As a writer he enjoyed a decided prosperity, his contributions being marked by a veiu of hnmor and clever satire. In addition to his labors as a magazinist and periodical writer, he produced, in conjunction with his four brothers, a series of humorous novels and Christmas stories, which were given to the public as the work of the " Brothers Mayhew." He also published several humorous works under his own name. Until a short time before his death, Mr Mayhew continued to be an industrious contributor to periodical literature.
