CHINA AND JAPAN.
Sir Harry Ord has returned to Singapore. Sir.fi, Macdonnell has left, and Sir Arthur Kennedy has ai lived at Hong Kong. The Emperor of China is to be married in October. A great fire, covering two square miles, has occurred at Teddo. Forty-five streets and five thousand buildings were destroyed, and twenty-one thousand persons burnt out. Three hundred and fifty persons were killed, and a million and a half dollars' worth of property consumed. A conspiracy to murder the Mikado tailed. An exhibition is to be held at KiotD on April 27. Two Japanese men-of-war are about to visit Europe by way of the Suez Canal.
