The Weil Coast Times of yesterday has the following : -•• Daring the gale that was blowing yesterday afternoon an" occurrence took place, which might have been attended with serions results. The schooner Northern Light, which has lately been placed on the bank in the river for iep&irs to her rudder, was blown away from her moorings by the force Of the gale, and, drifting across the river, it became evident that she would come into collision with the schooner Fiery Cress, which was moored at the wharf. A number of persons who witnessed the mishap and the imminence of the danger, lent their assist* once at once to avert the impending destruction of the Fiery Cross, and to their exertions the salvage of that vessel is mainly due. They got hold of one of the lines by which the Northern Light was secured to the wharf and hauled on until, by the aid of others who came up, the vessel was slewed round, and her direct course progress towards the Fiery Cross arrested so far, that, touching the wharf with her quarter, she merely grazed the other schooner." The barque Nimrod was burned off Bermuda on tho 9th March. Of seventeen persons on board, only teu were save<l. The vessel waß loaded with naptha and kerosene, and an explosion from some unknown cause took place in the hold behind the main hatch. It is believed that the captain's wife and daughter were in the cabin at the time of the explosion. When the fire was seen from the harbor of Bermuda, it was too late to render assistance.
