Nelson, June 6. The General business of the Council is postponed until the inquiry into Mr O'Conor's conduct is concluded. The report is expected to be brought up to-morrow.

Wellington, June 6. The JVetu Zzalwnd Gazette, of to-day, revokes the proclamation of March 24, 3870, constituting the Buller district. It constitutes Buller and Reefton districts under the Marriage and Registration Acts. ■■ C. Broad is appointed Registrar of Births, &c., at Reef ton, and W. S. Munday for the Buller. Wangantji, June 6. The schooner Colleen Bawn has been sold for L3OO. The Tongariro made a successful trial trip. Port Chalmers, June 6. The Nebraska is detained to convey the Suez mail north. The Albion is expected to-night. Christchurch, June 6. The Provincial Council last night negatived a motion in favor of dissolution. Napier, lune 6. The Bench dismissed information against Colonel Whitmore. '
