' ■ In reporting the arrival of the Nebraska at Auckland, the Southern Crew* of the 23rd May says : — The United States, New Zealand and Australian mail's splendid steamship Nebraska, from San Francisco via -Honolulu, arrived yesterday afternoon, bringing a large number of passengers, and about 170 tons cargo, also the March and April English mails, after a splendid run of a little over twenty-fotlr days from San Francisco. The Nebraska on her trips to and from San Francisco to Honolulu, made the fastest inn on record, doing the distance in less than eight days cash way, She also made excellent running between Honolulu and this port, having come down in fourteen days and a few hours, thus fully proving that these vessels can steam the distance in the contract time, if not connecting at Honolulu, where, we believe, the delay has generally arisen.
