Cater, the Wagga baker, lately passed through Deniliqnin after his return from Great Britain. The Pastoral Times says: — • " On being askedatEchucaif he, who had given evidence in favor of Castro, the Tichborne claimant, really thought that' the claimant was Tichborne,; Cater answered, ' No, I think not, I dined with " Sir Roger " in England ; a footman was waiting at table ;: there were on a sideboard some bottles of porter and other drinks. Instead of calling Jeames de la Plush to open a bottle of porter, "Sir Roger " got up, seized a bottle, took out the cork, and helped himself , which ho' gentleman would do.' Cater forgets that gentlemen in the Australian colonies are so accustomed .to help themselves that it is no wonder when they get home amidst the conventionalities of society there, they forget they are not in Australia." :t : ..:/ :
