The Provincial Council last night passed. a resolution to the effect that it is desirable, with a view to rendering the administration of affairs of th ) province more simple and efficient, that the Superintendent should be elected by a majority of the Council, from the members thereof, or from outside the Council; that he should be a member of the Council ex. officio, removable by a vote of 'the majority ; that the 'present power of vetoing an ordinance' should be vested' in the Governor ; that \ the Executive Council should consist of four members, exclusive of the Superintendent, who should be the Chairman ; that the Executive should be appointed or removed by the Council'; and that the General Government J^e asked to bring in a bill next session of the Assembly to authorise these alterations.
