Melbourne.— The Argus of the 11th inst, reports as follows : — Business in the import markets has been quiet, and the day's transactions have not been extensive. In breadstuffs, little change can be noted. The demand for flour has been limited ; prices, however, remain steady at Lls 15s to Ll6 per ton for bakers' parcels. In wheat there has been less doing. Really good sample 3, however, bring 6s lOd to 7s per bushel. Inferior qualities arc not ao readily placed. In oats there is no change to note, and prices have undergone no alteration. Maize is steadily . moved off in fair parcels at 3s 3d to 3s 5d per bushel. For barley there is an inquiry for first-class samples for malting ; but there is very little offering. In sugars a steady business continues to be done, and some 500 bags yellow to fine counters have been disposed of at from L 33 10s to L 36 10s per ton. In woolpacks we learn that further transactions to arrive are pending. A line of Brandon's full- weight candles has been placed at 9jd per lb in bond.
