Christchurch. — The Lyttlelon Times of Saturday last reports : — Breadstnffs continue to present an improving aspect in consequence of Australian advices. Large shipments of wheat have gone forward to Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland. The Clairellen also took a large parcel for England. Prime milling samples of wheat have advanced 4d per bushel duringthe month. We now quote best samples of wheat, ex store, at 4s 7dto4s9d, and for farmers' lots 4s Cd is the market quotation. Flour has likewise advanced to Ll3, being L 2 above last month's report. A good business has been doing in oats, but prices advanced but slowly. Good milling samples' are worth from Is 94d to Is lid; common do, Is 7d to Is BJd ; good malting barley is wanted, for which 5s is freely given ; medium is quitted without any trouble at 4d. No alteration in the value of: provisions has transpired. Butter is held for 7d to 74(1 ; j cheese, if anything, is better stock at 4d to 4Jd. flew cure of hams. and bacon are now coming forward at 7d» and for parcels packed in cloth 7 Jd is given.
