Thursday, May 9. (Before O. Whitefoord, Esq., R.M.) A miner from the Half-Ounce was charged with being drunk and disorderly and with using indecent language at that place on Bth May. Senior Constable Dorris said the defendant was fighting and creating such a disturbance, that he was compelled to take him into custody after repeatedly cautioning him. The officer further complained that the defendant's language was most incorrigible. The defendant was fined 20s or 24 hours' imprisonment for being drunk, and L 3 or one week's imprisonment for using offensive language within the hearing of the public. Ellen Cameron was called, charged with similar offences. The defendant did not appear,- and a warrant was ordered to issue for her arrest. Hunter v.
