The following, which is compiled from an official time table issued by the Post Office Department, shows the days on which the San Francisco mail is due at and departs from Greymouth during 1872: —

Ootwarvs. Jannary 7 January ... 19 February ... 4 February ... 16 March .. ... 3 March 15 „ ... 31 April 12 April 28 May 10 May 20 Jnno 7 Jane 23 July 5 July 21 August 2 August 18 , 30 September ... 15 September ... 27 October 13 October 25 November ... 10 November . 22 December .. 8 December .., 20 The time allowance between Greymonth and Auckland ia six days ; between Auckland and Son Francisco, 24 days; and batween San Francisco and f.ondoD, from 18 to 20 days— total from Greymouth to i»ndon, 49 to 50 days.
