The Sleepers may be either of Totara, Jarrab, Oregon, Black Pine, Black Birch, or Kauri, Specifications may be seen at the office of the Resident Minister for- the Middle' lsland at Christchurch ; the Public Works Office, Wellington ; the offices of the District Engineers at Dunedin and Hokitika, and with the General Government Agent, Auckland.
