THE FLOOD AT DUNDEE.
Despatches from Dundee give accounts of a wide-spread, devastating flood in the , Valley of the fay; The waters ; sf ' the Frith and River Tay overflowed their banks and poured into the plaina-onlboth sides, sweeping everything before them, from Dundee at the mouthjbf the Frith, to a point above Perth on the south side of the River Tay and the head of navigation. The level country foundaiear tie latter city is covered with water, and por? tions of Dundee rendered uninhabitable. The railroads' between t/he two cities J are washed away in many places, and ,uiuch road beds, must be rebuilt. In Dundee the damage to property isJmmense. ; The lower stories of several large! warehouses filled with jute and flax are flooded^and thousands of bales of flax are destroyed. No estimate can be formed of losses in the country along the river banks.
