Christchvrch.— The Lyitelton Timek of Saturday lagfr reports :— ~ "Wheat continues in steady request at 4s 2d to 4s 3d for prime samples for export. Millers are .reported to.be giviug a shade higher for extra choice samples. Heavy shipments are beiug made to England on farmers' account, and, judging by recent advices, they have every prospect of realising good returns. Flour stands at last week's quotations -say Lll 10s to Ll2. Oats are somewhat dull, as few export orders have been coming to hand. No alteration, however, can be noted in values. Prime milling samples are worth Is 9d to Is lOd for early delivery, and for stored lines a shade higher is obtained '; inferior samples are with difficulty placed at Is 7d to Is Bd. Barley continues in excellent request at 4s 3d to 4s 6d. Provisions go into consumption very freely. Hama and baenn are getting reduced, at 7d to 74d. Butter, 7d to 7|d. Cheese is at last improving, and 4d to 4Jd is noted for superior quality.
