In pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Regulation of Elections Act, 1870," I, Caleb Whitefoord, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Grey, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a Writ, bearing date of the 30th day of March, 1872, issued under the hands of bis Honor the Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, an Election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as a member of the Provincial Council of the Province of Nelson for the said Electoral District, and that the Nomination of Candidates will take place at the Court House, Cobden, on Tuesday, the twenty-third day of April, 1872, at 12 o'clock noon ; and that the Poll (if necessary) will be taken on Saturday, the twenty-seventh day of April, 1872, from nine o'clock a.m. to four o'clock p.m. Dated the 15th day of Apiil, 1872.
