The Wakefield monument, brought out to Wellington about twenty-five years ago, is likely to be erected in a suitable spot contrally situated in the city. A number of gentlemen having this object in view have set afoot subscription lists, and Wellington, like Christchurch, is soon to have some tangible reminder of the career of one' of New Zealand's early colonisers.
