The small-pox is spreading throughout the British Isles. Cardinal Cullen permits the. use of meat on Friday for sanitary reasons, owing to the prevalence of the disease. Advices received in England from the Cape of Good Hope represent that rich discoveries continue to be made in the diamond fields. . Among others, two diamonds had been found of 1000 carats each. it'is reported that the GermanJGovernment refuses to join the movement of the European Powers, for the suppression of the International Society. A telegram from Bombay, under date January 18th, states that—" A dangerous revolt amongst the Rooahß of India has been suppressed- by troops, who marched direct to the head-quarters of the rebels aud completely defeated them, killing one hundred, and taking several hundred prisoners. Quiet now prevails." JThis I probably explains the telegram of Feb. 6th, which Btates that 60 mutineers' had been "ordered to be blown from the mouths of the cannon."
