The names, tonnage, and horse-power of i-tbe vessels proposed to be employed to : be stated, and the vessels to be approved by the Postmaster-General, and'lo^be surveyed by some person appointed by him whenever he may oonsider it necessary. A chief cabin passage, tree of cost either for passage or victualling, to be provided when required for an officer of the Post Office Department. . . . A proper and secure room to be proYidea for the mails ; and all mails to be landed and shipped by and at the expense of the contractor. The days and hours of arrival and departure at and from the various ports to be fixed by the Postmaster-General, who shall also have the power of detaining the vessels, if necessary, for forty-eight hours after the days fixed for their departure from Manukau, without charge. For any other detention, the rate of demurrage per hour to be stated. The service to commence at Picton on the 14th April next. , The services to-be determined^ by either party giving three months' notice, in writing, to the other. ..
