Thompson PROGRAMME : FIRST DAY— MONDAY, 18th MARCH I— Trial Stakes of 30 soys, open to all horses ; weight for age ; one mile and a half ; entrance, 3 soys 2— Lottery Plate of 25 soys, winners of public money in any race to the amount of 50 soys to carry 71b penalty, of 100 soys 101 b, not accumulative; one mile and a quarter ; weight for age ; entrance, 2J soys 3— Gkeymouth Jockey Club Handicap, of 200 soys ; second horse to save his stake ; nominations 3 guineas, and acceptances 7 guineas ; distance, 2i miles. Nominations will close on December 31 ; handicap declared on January 22, and acceptances received up to February 29 next. Nominations and acceptances to hold good if bearing post-mark of above dates 4— Hurtle Race, of 50 soys ; open to all horses ; over six flights of hurdles; weight for age in this race only as under without allowances ; 6 yrs and aged, list 31b ; 5 yrs, lOst 131 b ; 4 yrs, lOst 31b; 3 yrs, 9st. One and a half miles ; heats ; entrance, 5 soys s— District Plate, of 40 soys ; open to all horses the property of bona fide residents in the Nelson South- West or Westland Gold Fields prior to the Ist day of January, 1872 (and also owners from same date) of horses entered by them ; weight for age ; one mile and three-quarters ; entrance, 4 soys SECOND DAY-TUESDAY, MARCH 19 I— Greymouth Jockey Club Hurdle Handicap, of 75 soys ; two and a half miles ; ovei nine flights of hurdles. Nominations, with 2 soys, to be sent in to the Secretary on or before the evening of Saturday, the 16th day. of March, at 8 o'clock, addressed to the Aloion Hotel, Greymonth ; weights to be declared at 10 p.m. on Monday, the 18th day of March ; acceptances, with 6 soys, to be sent to the Secretary before 11 o'clock the same evening to the same address 2— Town Plate, of 100 soys; open to all horses ; weight for age ; winner of the Jockey Club Handicap to carry 101 b extra, second horse to save his stake ; two miles; entrance, 8 soys 3— Selling Stakes, of 20 soys ; weight for age. The winner to be sold for 50 soys ; if to be sold for £40," allowed 71b; for £30, 141 b; for £20, 211 b. The winner to be sold by auction immediately after the race, and the surplus, if any, to go to the Race Fund. Mares and geldings allowed 31bs. REGULATIONS. The rules of the Greymouth Jockey Club will be enforced, unless otherwise specified. No entry will be received unless upon the distinct understanding that the decision of the stewards, or whoever they may appoint, shall in all cases be final, and all law proI ceedings barred. All entries for the Hack Race are to be made subject to the approval of the stewards. Entries and nominations to be made on Saturday evening, the 16th day of March, previous to 8 o'clock, at the Albion Hotel, Greymouth. All entries and acceptances must be in writing, specifying age and description of horse and colors of rider, and enclosing the requisite money. ° All horses must be ridden in colors. All parties entering a horse must pay the sum of three soys to tho Eace Fund (unless a member of the Clnb, who shall pay one soy ) \t °£ le^ *!? quali f y tne mselves; entries for the Hack Eaco only being excepted. Acceptors for the Greymouth Jockey Club Handicap must pay the Race Fund qualification fee. . Three horses for all races must enter (and. in the event of a handicap, accept) or the pubhc money will be withheld, expense^ 68 Paid leM 6 per Cent towards Nominations (if received in time) bearing peßt mark of 16th March will be received Any horse found galloping upon the cours previous to 18th March will be disqualified.
