Nominations, with 2 soys, to be sent in to the Secretary on or before the evening of Saturday, the 16th day of March, at 8 o'clock, addressed to the Aloion Hotel, Greymouth ; weights to be declared at 10 p.m. on Monday, the 18th day of March ; acceptances, with 6 soys, to bo sent to the Secretary before 11 o'clock the same evening to the same address 2— Town Plate, of 100 soys; open to all horses ; weight for age ; winner of the Jockey Club Handicap to carry 101 b extra, second horse to save his stake ; two miles; entrance, 8 soys 3— Selling Stakes, of 20 soys ; weight for age. The winner to be sold for 50 soys ; if to be sold for £40, allowed 71b; for £30, 141 b; for £20, 21lb. The winner to be sold by auction immediately after the race, and the surplus, if any, to go to the Race Fund. Mares and geldings allowed 31bs. REGULATIONS. The rules of the Greyniouth Jockey Club will be enforced, unless otherwise specified. No entry will be received unless upon the distinct understanding that the decision of the stewards, or whoever they may appoint, shall in all cases be final, and all law proceedings barred. All entries for the Hack Race are to be mode subject to the approyal of the stewards. Entries and nominations to be made on Saturday evening, the 16th day of March, Erevious to 8 o'clock, at the Albion Hotel, freymouth. All entries and acceptances must be in writing, specifying age and description of horse and colors of rider, and enclosing the requisite money. All horses must be ridden in colors. All parties entering a horse must pay the sum of three soys to the Race Fund (unless a member of the Club, who shall pay one soy.) is. order to qualify themselves, entries for the Hack Race only being excepted. Acceptors for the Greymouth Jockey Club Handicap must pay . the Eace Fund qualification fee. . " V . Three horses for all races must enter (and, in the event of a handicap, accept) or the public money will be withheld. All stakes paid less 5 per cent towards expenses. Nominations (if received in time) bearing pest mark of 16th March will be received. Any horse fomu} galloping upon the sours . previous to 18th March will be disqualified.
