In breadstuffs,; flour ii disposed of at Ll2 12s 6d to Ll2 15s for tradej^rcels, but is not offering so freely asVit has-been. Notwithstanding the demand for wheat, we are unable (owing to the paucity of supplies) to report any sales, though for prime parcels up to 5s (id can readily be obtained There is more business doing in oats. We hear of a line of 2000 bushels prime quality having been placed at 3s Od, and another of 3200 bushels was expected to be carried through at tho close of business hours. Maize is very dull at our quotation of 3s lOd. Sugars have again been prominently noticed, some 5000 baes Mauritius white having been taken up byone buyer, while a line of 1500 bags went into tho hands of another buyer. These purchases bavo cleared out of importers' hands all the Mauritius white crystals offering, and there is little doubt that much higher rates will bo required in future than have been ruling of late. We hear of considerable sales of gunnies to arrive ; on the spot 8s is realised, and we leitn that withiu a shade of that figure is obtained for floating parcels. Woolpacks are very scarce, and wanted ; a parcel of 20 bales was taken up this afternoon at 4s 4sd. Kerosene oil is quiet ; there is, however, a moderate demand for trade requirements, and several 500-case lots have been quitted at 1 8 9£d for brilliant, and Is Bid for Oriental A parcel of 35 bales of Tasmanian hops, Sharland's and other good brands, has Jbeen taken up on private terms; a full price is said to have been paid.
