IMPORTS.
Per Wallabi, from Wanganui : 3 cows, 100 sheep, 40 pigs, 1 horso, Maclean. Tho Rangitoto was duo at Hokitika yesterday, but up to midnight no telegram of her arrival was received here The steamer Wallabi arrived on Saturday morning, after a boisterous passage as far as Westport, and, having landed her _ stock, saile I the same evening tor Wanganui. Tho Dispatch tow^d m, on yesterday morning's tide, the schooner Threo Friends, and on the same tide towed out tho Crest of the Wave. Tho Three Friends is from Westport, having come to this port to ship a cargo for Brighton. The Crest of the Wave is laden with coal for Riverton, from which place she proceeds to the Bluff to receive a cargo of timber for Dunedin. The steamer Kennedy arrived at Hokitika on Saturday, and was expected to leave for this port yesterday forenoon, but she did not put m an appearance. She will probably arrive here on this morning's tide. Tho' Nevada shipped 1000 bales of wool at Port Chalmers. Captain Leech, harbormaster, We3tporr, states that he took, on Thursday last, soundings of tho new channel caused by tho recent' flood, and that there was 12ft of water on the bar; at springtides this will be increased to 15ft. Still tho old channel is deoper than the new. The schooner Juno Hannah, from the Grove, bound for Dunedin with a cargo of timber, has put inte Wellington for repairs. She encountered a severe gale off Kaikouras, and lost her maintopmast head and foretopmast. Three survivors of tho wreck of the Nonpareil arrived at Shields on sth December. They give harrowing details of the wreck of this vessel on tho voyage from Bombay to Quebec. The vessel went down during a storm, twenty -two of the crew and two gentlemen (passengers) being drowned. There was no time to get into the boats, and the survivors remained on a pieco of tho wreck without food or water for seven days and nights. The heat during the whole time is described as being intense. They were finally picked up by an American vessel and landed as above.
