Grey River Argus Office, Taesday evening. The amount of revenue received at the Customs on goods passed for home consumption to-day was £90 Is Bd. Timaru.—The Herald of 14th February, in its summary for England, reports :— Transactions in grain have commenced, and we hear of purchases of wheat at 3s Cd, and some in oats at Is 8d to Is lOd. At the former price some 1500 bushels have changed hands, and the buyers inform us that they can cet plenty at that figure. We think, however, that to sellers it must have been a matter,of necessity, not choice, aud that farmers will hold out for, and obtain, better rates than that, as soon as those who are obliged to sell at low prices have sold out. Old flour (Wood's) is quoted atLl4 per ton; other brands, Ll2 to £13 ; sharps, L 4 10s; bran,Jj3. , .
