The latest Government Gazette contains a return in detail of the Customs revenue daring the quarter ended 31st December, 1871. The total amount for the quarter was LI 93,079, being an increase of L 5327 over the corresponding quarter in 1870. The receipts for the whole year 1871 were L 731.883, as against L 705, 930 in 1870, being a decrease on the year of L 34,047. The quantity of gold exported during the year was 73Q,0290z, of the value of L 2,787,920., 787,920. as against 544,8800z, value L2.15C.525, in 1870, being an increase of 185,149pz for the year.
