A miner from Stockyard Creek, Gipps Land, named Alex. Jarvie, contrived to get robbed' of LSO lately. He accompanied a woman into a house in Stephen street, foolislily taking with him some LBO, about LSO of which he placed in the pocket of a waistcoat, which, when going to sleep, he put under his head, and on waking lip next morning he made the discovery that the money had disappeared. About L3O, which he kept in his trousers pocket, was not touched. Suspectiug the woman who went into the house with him, he gave her in charge. On Saturday she appeared in the City Court, under the name of Margaret Fitzpatrick, and was remanded for a week oh the charge of stealing the money, A girl named Elizabeth Ramsay waV burned to death the other day at Deniljquin, in consequence of following the foolish practice of pouring kerosene oh to the wood in the fireplace to make it ignite. The kerosene exploded in the can, and the girl was burned to such a degree that she died in two or three hours.
