Tho Magnet and Ceres were loading at Melbourne for Greymouth when the Rangitoto left. The a.s, Kennedy arrived at Hokitika yesterday morning. She will be here to-day, and leave at night for Westport and Nelson. The barque Kate Conley sailed for Melbourne on Saturday morning. The Rangitoto, with the Suez Mail, arrived at Hokitika early on Sunday morning, when she was tendered, and sailed for this port at a quarter to twelve o'clock, arriving here about 2 p.m., when she was tendered by the p.s. Dispatch, which ran down the coast to meet her the moment she was signalled This was one of the smartest instances of tendering a steamer we have seen at this port, and the agent, 'Mr Girdwood, anil Captain Kitchenham deserve much credit for it, as the Rangitoto was not delayed half an hour here, and steamed away for Nelson after working both the ports of Hokitika and Greymouth on the same tide. The Rangitoto left Melbourne on the 22nd, and arrived off Hokitika at six o'clock yesterday morr'ng. At this port she landed 20 passengers.
