The Proprietor of these first-class establishments, after passing through great difficulties by fires, floods, &c, and having once more recoveied his former independent position, wishes to express his sincere gratitude to his numerous friends, and also to the public of the town and district generally for \ the hearty manner in which he has been assisted under most trying circumstances. Both of these magnificent Hotels are now complete in every detail, and visitors will find that they are furnished in a most superb manner, and everything connected with them is provided so that even the most fastidious cannot find room for complaint. The table d'hote is second to none in the southern hemisphere. Detached from the Melbourne Hotel is the Private Family Hotel, in Mackay street, where families will have the same privacy as if they were in their own homes j and commercial travellers will find every comfort and convenience in the shape of sample rooms, parlors, &c. A new stoiey has been added to the hotel, and no expense has been spared to make it equal, if not superior, to any hotel in Westland. A number of well-ventilated bedrooms and parlors.
