ARNOLD CHURCH.
[to the editor.] Sib— Will you be kind enough on behalf of the Trustees of Arnold Church, and in T justice to Mr Peyman, who has worked hard for the good and welfare of this district to insert the following :— " It has been publicly stated in Greymouth and other places thatMr Peyman has been in the habit of making collections at the services he has held here, for defraying his expenses. This, we have no hesitation in saying, is untrue, the only collection made . being at the dpening, and it is a well- known fact whenever the question of collection has been mentioned by the trustees, it has been opposed by Mr Peyman. During a period of seven months, Mr Peyman has conducted bi-monthly services to the satisfaction of the residents, and inclement weather has never prevented him from attending. A further charge brought against Mr Peyman of having made a trade of his services cannot possibly be supported, as for a period of seven months he had to defray expenses of horse-hire, ferries, &c., and he has received the sum ofL46s. , . I am, &c, Henry S. Castle. R. Murphy. January 23, 1872.
Proprietor.
