A - rangements have been made with the Super itandent of Nelson to gei; the road works on the South- We3t Gold Fields put in hand at once. Mr Blackett -has received instructions to make all ; necessary preliminrry aijangements to put the works under 'the superintendence of Mr Dobson. The roads are to be made according to the recommendations of Messrs Curtis and Hauison — namely, from Eeefton to Inangahua landing, and from Reefton to Little Grey Junction. The Provincial Government have completed the survey of a road to the Inangahua, 21 miles, to cost L 10,500. Tho survey of the road towards the Grey Valley will be at once gone on with, and tenders called for. Mr Haughton will shortly be in GreymOuth, and will visit up-conntry, and report as to the condition of the Gold Fields.
