Thursday evening. Tho amount of revenue received at the C JBtoms on goods passed for home consumption to-day was £121 17s lOd.
Melbourne.— The Argus of the 11th reports as follows :— In the import markets, business has been' fairly active, without however anything of very much importance having been made public. For breadstuffs there has been more enquiry, a good demand for flour having existed at Ll2 15s to Ll3 for trade purposes. New Victorian wheat is soiling at up to as 6d in parcels as it comes to market. (Jndor the hammer, prime new wheat was sold at As sd, and for mixed lots, not very clean, from 5s to 5s 3d was obtained. About 500 bags were thus disposed of. Of old Adelaide wheat, a parcel of about 1500 bushels met with a purchaser at 5s lid. Feeding grains are not much looked after. By auction common feeding sorts were quitted at 2s 9d to 3a; there is not, however, much doing. Maize is selling at 3s lid to 4s. Sugar evince 3 considerable activity, to judge by the business going through hands. This forenoon some 8300 bags China and Natal descriptions, ex Onward and Tatharo, were cleared off, every bag offered being Bold at and after the sale. Browns realised 28s 6d to 29s 3d ; low counters, 30s to 31s 6d ; medium, 32s Cd to 33s 9d, and good to fine counters 34s 9d to 36a 6d. Privately, sales of Mauritius sugar to the extent of 1500 to 2000 bags are mentioned, chiefly brewing graiuy yellow crystals, at up to L3B. We have a parcel of 50 bales corasacks having been placed at 12s 44d. Malt is not much wanted. Trade parcels are disposed of at 9s 3d. Teas do not yet attract much attention. Fine congous, however, are moving off for the supply of immediate wants at Is 9d to 2s. In liquids, we Bear of Marrian's alo, in bulk, having met with a freer inquiry, and sales in parcels have been recorded at prices, according to quantity, supporting our quotation of L 8 for small lots. Bttrke's stout in bottle is in good reqnest at 10s 3d. Numerous sales of daggei brand have also been reported at 9s Cd.
