Blue sky and cloudy with bars good was the report for yesterday. Barometer was highest at Wanganui, 30.32; and lowest at the Bealoy, 27.77. Thermometer was highest at Nelson, 72 ; and lowest at Hokitika and the Bealey, 60. The p.s Charles Edward, with the West Coast portion of tho Sau Francisco mail, arrived at Hokitika yesterday morning. Sho will leave this port for Westport and Nelson on Sunday, at noon. The s.s. Claud Hamilton, from Melbourne, is now overdue, and therefore may be hourly expected. Sho will sail for northern ports shortly after arrival. The s.a, Tararua, from Nelson, is expected' here on Sunday morning, when she will be despatched with gold and passengers for Melbourne direct. The schooner Mary Van Every, from Dunedin, arrived in the roadstead yesterday afternoon, and was towed in about midnight by the p.s. Dispatch.
