■ *~~ ' ■: [per greville's telegraph company, beuter's agents.] Dcjnbdin, Jan. 9. Ewing has been found guilty of shoofc ing the Chinaman, but recommended to mercy. His solicitor has moved an arrest of judgment, on the ground of badness of indictment. The Star authoritatively contradicts the report that Birch and Seaton have been appointed Sub-Immigration agents. It says there is no appointment ; they pay their own expenses, but are furnished with introductions to Dr. Featherstone, who remunerates or not, according to 'the value of services rendered.
