[per greviile's telegraph company, reuter's agents.] Auckland, Dec. 6. The plant and copyright of the evening and morning News were sold by auction, and purchased by the Eveniny Btur for L 430. Caledonians, L 62 ; Thames, LIG; Tookey, L4O. Three arrests have been made for stealing specimens from the Caledonian mine. Dunedin, Dec. 6. It is supposed that tlie Artillery Company's challenge cup and belt, of the value of L2OO, were loßt in the Rangoon. A Committee of the;, Borough Council recommend the reduction of tbe Mayor's salary to L3OO per annum.
